Child backpack carriers...Recommend me one.

Going to Hawaii in a few weeks, need to carry Kidcat around. She is 2.5 years old, probably 20-ish pounds (don’t really know). What do you like and dislike about them? I have only seen ones on REI’s , which all seem fine, but the Kelty Pathfinder w/ Hood caught my eye.

Thanks-

I can only add that I’ve heard great things about the Kelty child carriers. My aunt & uncle trek a lot with their kids and they used the same Kelty pack for both of them (at different times of course).

Have you looked at some of the outdoor stores in Prague? I’ve been to most of them and was really impressed with their selection of packs. I have a Czech-made backpack that has held up for years – I believe it was made by Framo. Perhaps they make child carriers as well so it may be worth checking out some of the local brands if you haven’t already.

We used the same Tough Traveller backpack to haul both our kids. It lasted for years, and was passed on outside the family. I generally preferred to carry the kids in a sling, but my husband loved the Stallion.

I used a Snugli with littlecats-no idea on their availability outside the US. The one I had is convertible from front to rear wear.
