You need to read all of the hardcovers in the NJO, the stackpole duology, keyes duology, and allston duology (and yes, lord nyax was silly). forget the rest.
luceno - totally forgettable. shame that he’s been chosen to finish out the series.
cunningham- lots of teen angst. not a horrible ending, but not a good story overall.
stover- see above. unlike many, i HATE vergere.
i’m working on the new duology now (force heretics)…looks promising, but too early to tell.
I finally got Refugee from the library, so I’m reading that.
And I got through
Ton Phanan’s death in Iron Fist.
WAAAHHHHH
again, so that’s good.
That’s a heck of a scene, Guin…makes me tear up as well.
am working on Remnant now…not bad, but I am a little put off by the lack of chapter headings. It’s divided into 3 parts (i think), but no subheadings. Makes the reading go a lot slower.
btw- in case i didn’t mention it -the reason i like the 3 duologies so much is that they introduce some kick-ass bad guys- Shedo Shai, Vua Rapuung, and Chavok (?) Lah. All very well written.
As with many stories, it’s the depth of the villains thgat drive the plot. That is generally what separates the good SW novels from the pulp.
I just finished *Refugee[/k]-I can’t wait until Reunion.
