Your Favourite Star Wars Character

Who are your favourite Star Wars characters? My personal favourite is Senator/Supreme Chancellor/Emperor (Cos?) Palpatine. From an objective viewpoint the Republic was dying and gridlocked and would have been monstrously unprepared for the Yuuzhun Vong invasion.

R2D2

Ever and always Darth Vader, just for the ominous one-liners.

Not Anakin Skywalker. Darth Vader. There was never an Anakin Skywalker. Never, do you hear me?! sob NEVER!

The girls of KOTOR II will always have a special place in my heart. Kreia the teacher and Visas Marr and Brianna the disciples.

If I had to choose just one I’d probably pick Visas Marr.

Wedge Antilles. Only Rebel pilot to survive attacks on both Death Stars, and unlike certain whiny farmboys, didn’t need to use some mystical energy field to do so.

From the original trilogy, C-3PO. He’s funny without trying.

From the prequel trilogy, none of them. The only characters who resonate are because of how excruciating they are.

The members of Wraith Squadron. Yub yub, Commander!

Curtis, are you British?

Obi Wan and R2D2

Lots of choices. Hmm… Darth Vader and Han Solo are both excellent examples of their tropes (ominious villain, deadpan lancer). I have a soft spot for Boba Fett, even if his coolness is overplayed these days. Kyle Katarn and a lot of the guys from KOTOR due to love for their games.

As bad as the prequels were, they actually made Obi-Wan grow on me a lot. Dooku and Mace Windu are both cool characters who are sadly under- and mis-used in the actual films.

Kreia has got to be one of the most well-written and best-developed female characters I’ve ever seen. Didn’t care much for the other two love interests though. Brianna was tolerable but I really just wanted to space Visas out the nearest airlock. It’s really too bad Mira wasn’t an option. Damn the Exile’s age!

I loved Brianna and Visas.

I would keep Kreia on the ship and go out onto the planets with Brianna and Visas. It was so badass. Kreia, the mentor, sitting on the ship and observing remotely. Brianna and Visas, my protagonist’s apprentices.

Maybe it was because of my young age, but when Handmaiden, who’d refused to tell me her name for the entire game finally knelt down before my character after having helped him butcher her former master and said “I am Brianna, Sith Apprentice” I had a minor emotional reaction. It was just so fucking cool.

Gotta go with Yoda. Other than Mace he was the only one to try and oppose the Emperor face-to-face (and have a chance to win.) Especially since from an objective viewpoint the Republic would not be dying or gridlocked and would have been monstrously more prepared for the Yuuzhun Vong invasion without Palpatine’s interfence. (Force resistant or not, I would rather have an extra couple hundred well-trained and experienced Jedi with me in a fight.)

It’s a tie between Darth Vader (not Anakin) and Boba Fett. Although going purely on the films Vader wins by a mile, I only really like Fett because of the way he is treated in the expanded universe novels.

I’m a sucker for a loveable rogue so it’s got to be Han Solo. Other points in his favour: sexy, smuggler with own ship, best friend is a Wookiee.

Porkins.

Got blown up early, too fat to really fit well in the cockpit.

Still, he died trying.

He more closely resembles me than anybody else in the SWU does.

The Imperial officer aboard Vader’s star destroyer who gave the misguided order “hold your fire there are no lifeforms” when the escape pod was jettisoned. It is because of him the rebellion survived.

I laugh whenever I hear his name. Of course the fat guy’d be named Porkins.

Probably Lorana Jinzler, the padawan woobie from Outbound Flight.

Han Solo.
