It’s not just a new sport, but they’re doing this to teach the chickens “self-defense” and scare the eagles into not harming the chickens. Look at that picture, it is too awesome to describe! ![]()
Don’t mess with China. Even the livestock knows Kung Fu. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Chicken. HAI YAAAAA!
O.o
We need a youtube video of this.
I feel the urge to choke the chicken!
This is merely stage 1 of my chicken world domination plan.
How the hell do you trap an eagle?
That eagle looks like it just got clucked in the ass.
Back in the 70s and 80s, David Beatty’s was Kansas City’s leading high-end stereo shop. I started working for a guy who had previously worked for Beatty who told me how he got started. Kansas City was having a huge problem with pigeons crapping on the ASB Bridge across the Missouri River.
Beatty captured some pigeons and tortured them, recording the sounds of a pigeon in pain. He then set speakers up on the bridge, playing the tape.
The pigeons left, and didn’t come back for a long time.
I’d be lying if I didn’t say as an American- I kinda feel bad for the Eagle…
At least it’s not a bald eagle or else I see “international incident” written all over it!
See now, that news getting out today probably would, and I believe should, destroy his business.
This was never, as far as I know, common knowledge while Beatty was alive or his business a going concern. But, apparently, it made him the “go-to guy” for grateful city officials.

Sooo Chinese. Ah, we can see the legacy of Smart Methods here, as inherited from the greatest agricultural engineer of all times, Mao.
We can also see the utter respect for animal life that the Chinese are worldwide famous for.
The chicken reminds me of a mafioso:
Chico: “And this is for my late sister-in-law, Henrietta.”
Eagle: “I’m sorry, man! And I’ll have the money next Monday, all of it!”
Chico: “Don’ forget the interest: 200%…”
Kung POW! Chicken!
That’s disgusting.
The eagles are wild animals of prey, god damnit.
Better aversion “training” than the wholesale slaughter of predators the US ranching industry has practiced. Wolves and coyotes need to eat too ya know.
Although I expect the actual effects are mostly anecdotal. You’d have to catch & train a pretty big percentage of the local eagle population before predation would drop much. If, say, half the local eagles were now chicken-averse, that’d just reduce the competition the non-averse eagles face when snagging chickens.
That’s clucked up.
