Does anyone else remember this “Human Calculator” manner of doing simple math equations? By simple I mean multiplication, division, addition and subtraction. If recall properly, children of ages six to ten would figure out 237 times 71 faster than the talk show hosts could do it on a calculator. It was done by manipulating your fingers up and down and then reading the position they were in after the calculation.
Okay, that was a pretty bad description, but, think of Chismbop (I think that was the teacher’s name- maybe) as being a human abacus. I have searched Google, but it was not any real help.
If anyone has information on it, I would love to see it.
