Christian Militias. Just what we need...

I think you’re giving them too much credit. I don’t think they even thought it through that far. I think their thought process was basically, “We’ll kill some police officers, and this will lead to an uprising against the government”. They’re like the Underpants Gnomes of militant groups.

If Jefferson was right that we need a revolution every twenty years, why are those who try it such flaming loons?

OK, Jefferson was wrong. I’m over it.

The letter cited was subsequently deleted by the author, but if you dig down toward the end of the comments you’ll find a link to a cache of the article.

So, just to be clear, you’re saying that Fox is going to defend these guys, or blame Obama for unjustly going after them?

Want to put a little wager on that?

Best guess: its the Dems fault for ramming, cramming, slamming, stuffing rampant socialism down America’s throat, and while we certainly renounce, denounce, and condemn all forms of violence, its clearly their fault, and we must be ever more vigilant as they attempt to exploit these minor incidents to infringe upon the 2nd Amendment, Nancy Pelosi…

About like that.

I need help deciphering what I found on their Doctrine page.

Oiled virgins? I’m not sure here, but wouldn’t they need more oil rather than less the if groom arrived early? Note they say ‘arrived’ and not ‘came’. I’m sure from their POV that the party’s over when the groom comes.

I gotta read me some more bible. This sounds like pretty hot stuff.

Hey, we might have batshit-crazy beliefs, but we don’t hold our hymn books with tentacles!

I actually lived in Adrian for a year or two when I was growing up. I can’t say I’m surprised this happened.

I have been subjected to Facebook rants about how the government will use this to declare a police state and distract everyone from the *real *problem – health care!

I wish I could say I was surprised.

They’re going to be prosecuted? To the fullest extent? In a legal proceeding? Where due process rules are followed? And they have habeas corpus rights? And can talk to their own attorneys? And they’re not being subjected to torture? That’s crazy!

When they get tortured and denied their basic rights like Padilla, you can convince me that they’re not being treated with kid gloves. But since we all know that’s not going to happen (gee, I wonder why), I think kid gloves is a fair descriptor.

Pretty much that. “This never would have happened on a Republican’s watch, clearly the Dems need to rethink their strategy for reaching the people” or something.

And no, I’m not really interested in a wager. I’ve just been amusing myself the past few weeks thinking of how FOX could spin anything that happens against Obama.

On their BeastWatch page, they even have the humorous list of “Numbers of the Beast”.

http://www.hutaree.com/ezrafiles.htm

Yeah, they’ll need that sense of humor… IN PRISON!

The incidents involving The CSA & The Order happened during the Reagan Administration, and Ruby Ridge of course under Dad Bush.

Which does show that conservative Republican administrations WILL go after wacky Righties.

Do you think silly things like “facts” will give Fox pause? Silly true stuff has never been a factor in their spin.

What happened? Nothing “happened”. These guys were stopped. But if it makes you feel smugly superior to spin this as a slam against FOX, have at it. You’re just doing exactly what you accuse them of doing.

Even a visionary squirrel mistakes something for a nut once in a while.

Jesus: when come back bring whoop-ass.

I think it’s because of the mythos the American Revolution has in your country. 234 years ago a bunch of hopelessly outgunned and outmanned people took on an unjust government that happened to have the largest military in the world - and won. If you keep repeating that to the populace a kajillion times or so, then yeah they’ll get it in their head that another American Revolution would be successful!

Can’t access from work (well, to be honest, didn’t even try, but I’m sure I won’t be able to), but do they actually recognize the piece (I’m sure I know what you’re talking about) as humour?

I think she skipped a few steps in the process…

Who expects Fox news to remember or care about anything that happened under Reagan or Bush? That’s like Ancient History and stuff.

Besides, everyone knows that if the Republicans do it, then it was completely justified and morally proper, but if the democrats do it, then they’re clearly wrong and it has to be part of some Communist Plot.

Agreed, but John Mace is right. I don’t need to start attacking them for what they haven’t said (yet), even if it’s entertaining to think of what they might say.
