Well, what is it?
Christiane Amanpour is originally from Rhode Island, but she doesn’t seem to have any such accent whatsoever. To my ears, there’s a British-sounding inflection, maybe something that sounds a little bit like an old money Connecticut inflection, a disproportionate emphasis on O sounds, and something else that sounds vaugely European.
IIRC, Christiane Amanpour is half-Iranian (Persian) and was raised in London.
According to the IMDB listing, she was born in London, UK in 1958. She lived in Iran until her late-teens/early-twenties, and then left because of the revolution. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.
What is it?. . . . SEXY!!
