Christians: does your God ever say anything revolutionary?

How to break the speed of light, the next invention, I dont know. Could you ever ask the Almighty to explain something that science can not explain (yet)?

I’m not sure how to respond to this. God is not a magical wizard or something.

Okay:

Sure, I could ask him.

No.

Although, “Turn the other cheek” and all that were quite revolutionary at the time, I suppose.

Since you mentioned the the speed of light, yes He did, the speed of Love is beyond the speed of light, it is the power of God and is God, instant communication is possible for us today through Love, and eventually, and though spiritual evolution, interstellar travel using the Love of God and gifts from above.

Jesus Christ and His apostles did put forward that all the races of humanity are equal, that the two genders are equal, that the political and social systems of the time were cruel and inhumane and would need to be completely changed, that non-violence was superior to violence, that human rights existed, and a great deal more that was completely revolutionary for their time.

(As for whether Jesus ever said anything noteworthy about technology or the physical sciences, in the Gospels He did not, but you may be interested in researching Jakob Lorber, the 19th-century mystic who claimed to be hearing the vioce of Jesus Christ and whose recordings of that voice contain references to a great many discoveries and inventions.)

Actually, the correct answer is no. Nobody has ever actually gained new, empirically verifiable knowledge from the voices in their heads.

No they didn’t.

Yeah, but he tries not to make a habit of it.

You’re getting slow. You used to threadshit much faster than #6.
Quick, someone is talking about the motivation of a charater in a play…characters are fantasies!!!eleven!!! They don’t have motivations!!!

I dunno… the resemblance is striking.

God talks to Sharron Angle but not to me… what’s up with that?

Last time I checked Paul was an Apostle and he certainly did not believe that the genders were equal. Racial equality is not mentioned anywhere. Slavery was a common practice of the time and the New Testament tells slaves to be “good slaves” so human rights seem a bit of a stretch. As for the political systems didn’t he say “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s”? all he talked about was spirit stuff. and don’t trust the translations try reading the Aramaic and Greek oldest known versions. Boy will you be surprised as to what was REALLY said. Does require that you learn 2 new languages but it’s worth it

Jesus called gentiles “dogs.” Paul told slaves to obey their masters and women to keep their mouths shut and (if you believe the pastorals are authentic) said that women could not teach or have authority over men. The NT is hardly egalitarian.

I thought we were dedicated to fighting ignorance.

Hey, it’s only fair if the ignorance fights back.
