One thing I really don’t understand is what is the difference between serving a gay couple in a restaurant or selling them an occasional vase of flowers and catering an event such as a gay wedding. Either way, you’re not saying “I support this 100%”. Your simply providing a service. To say you’ll do one but not the other frankly sounds like BS. If you don’t want to serve gays, have the guts to put up a sign and let the market decide if you stay in business.
You know thats not very far off from what I’ve seen. Many Christian businesses put a mention of their faith in their advertisements. I know some which play Christian music in the background. They also abstain from selling things like porn, alcohol, and cigarettes. BUT, in no way would they refuse to do business with anyone who wants it.
And, just the opposite, some gay businesses put that out to. Funny story - a bed and breakfast owner told me a man called her up and asked if her B&B was a gay friendly B&B (meaning a B&B which advertises heavily to gays). She replied she was friendly to gays but gay customers were not a focus. The man hung up.
