Christmas cooking - recipe for chocolate rum balls?

Our next door neighbour was a lovely lady who baked a lot and would hand some over the fence for “you kids” when we came home from work. She was the kind of lady who made a neighbourhood work.

One of her favourite recipes at Christmas was chocolate rum balls. Some sort of dough, laced with rum, and then dipped in chocolate.

Sadly, she’s no longer with us. We miss her, and this time of year we miss her chocolate rum balls.

Would any baking Doper have a good recipe for chocolate rum balls?

Crush vanilla wafers and mix with melted chocolate and rum. Adjust amounts until it’s moldable and holds it’s shape. Roll into balls and then roll in confectioners sugar.

Roll in salt. Salty chocolate is the best.
