Depending on the type of electronics, www.newegg.com and www.tigerdirect.com both have very competitive prices (although Amazon sometimes beats them). And if you know any techno-geeks, nothing beats a handful of cheap memory cards or USB flash drives for stocking stuffers.

Better for books (although great for DVDs, and other things too sure), but I’ve used Amazon.com very successfully. Check the xx used and new for $xx area (where the Amazon Marketplace shops are), and sometimes I’ve found some real steals. Gently used copy of some normally high priced obscure book for around a buck ($6 with shipping, but c’mon). And better than eBay, what with the not getting ripped off part.

If you’re okay with used, I find that half dot com almost always beats Amazon.

Here is a recent thread that I think had some cool stuff Christmas gift wundersites.

I also thought of that thread when I saw Sir T-Cup’s – so I merged the two, changing title of the thread to reflect that either “cool” or “cheap” would be good. (This way someone who’s found a site with cool and cheap won’t have to figure out which thread to post in. )
