Web sites selling funky decor, postcards, etc.

I desperately need some stuff to jazz up my drab apartment. I love stuff like neat postcards (especially ones with old pulp novel covers), cool candleholders, neat picture frames, etc. My place seems way too bare, but this town has little outside of WalMart. Does anyone have good on-line sources for these kind of decorative thingies? Help me find some great art for my walls and tchotchkes for my tables!

How about
http://www.villainsupply.com/ - where evil shops!

sorry

Anyway,
For some reason I am having a brain block and can’t think of much. I’m at work now, so may come back with some better ideas later on…

In the meantime you may want to try…

http://www.whatyouget.com/
http://www.bizaar.co.uk/

Both of which have some neat stuff along with some regular normal stuff

http://www.geek.com
and

are both possibilities, but I’m not sure you’ll find more than a few things to interest you, though geek.com does have some neat candle holders and stuff.

Hopefully someone else will know something a little more specific for you.

Oh, you may also want to try http://www.allposters.com/ for your wall-needs, I haven’t browsed there for a while, but they seem to have an OK selection.

Funk And Standard.

Unfortunately, a quick browsing seems to show their site doesn’t cover near as much stuff as they have in the shop itself. You’ll probably still come up with a few things to pick up, though.

I found an excellent site selling tons of eccentric stuff : www.uncommongoods.com All sorts of fascinating decor, just thought I’d share with anyone else who’s looking.

Check out this groovy psychedelic rainbow candle lamp for a mere $14.95!

From the same site – check out their glow in the dark stuff.

Hot Topic has a few nifty items as well.

I like Da Fridge – and not just because they sent me free stuff when they discovered that my old web site linked to theirs.

I noticed your location says BC. You might want to consider ordering from Canadian sites. Almost every time I have ordered something from the US, I’ve gotten royally screwed on shipping and “handling”, customs, duties, brokerage fees and taxes (not to mention the exchange rate - at least that one is easy to figure out).

Many sites will say the price is X in US dollars and X for international shipping, but they don’t know anything about the extra fees that are incurred at the border. Basically, even though you have paid the retailer, the UPS guy shows up at your door with a bill. Just a heads up.

Thanks, Cyros, I have been burned with taxes and duty fees before when ordering DVDs from the UK, so I am prepared for extra costs if I order internationally. Does anyone know of any sites that ship in Canada, so I can avoid this? Thanks for all the great suggestions! I’m having tons of fun looking through these websites. All I need now is an unlimited source of money, and I’m set

Cool! I just didn’t want you to have any nasty surprises.

Cool stuff on those sites. Must buy 6/49 ticket…

Have you tried ebay? It’s not all new stuff, but you can get some seriously cheap stuff and it’s pretty nifty too.

Check out Alphaville. I just picked up some totally sweet posters from their brick-and-mortar store in Manhattan, and there’s lots of other fun stuff to see there.
