That’s a bummer. I wonder if the review kicked them into gear, especially with all the other outlets performing so well. It’s tough to get both a Kansas City boy and someone from Texas to agree on BBQ.
I’ve eaten at a couple of City Barbecues in Columbus and the food has been generally very good to excellent (better than any of the barbecue joints I ate at while living in Texas). I mostly go for either the pulled pork or brisket platters. Sides (including corn pudding and other basics like baked beans) are dependably good.
The only real complaint I ever had was when one outlet stopping playing blues and switched to country music :eek:. I e-mailed management, got an apology and the next time I ate there they were back to playing blues. 
I’m a little uneasy about the expansion of restaurants/franchises. Hopefully they won’t get big enough to be attractive to a big corporate buyer who’d probably standardize things into mediocrity or worse.
