Civil Trial: Trump v E. Jean Carroll (Carroll wins, awarded $5 million, plus 83.3 million)

My understanding of that is that because the Idiot’s tiny dick is so microscopic, no woman unfortunate enough to have intercourse with him (rape or not) can tell.

In Before: Trump, in his tradition of sending out pictures of his ‘’‘’‘bigly’‘’‘’ hands, has begun posting dick pics on various social media platforms.

So…does TFG have to register now on some sort of sex offender registry, and stay so many feet away from schools and daycares?

Frankly, I’m surprised TFG isn’t crowing ‘I’m not guilty of rape! Total exoneration’

This was a civil finding of liability, and not a criminal conviction. I’m not sure that it’d trigger any laws about having to register as a sex offender.

So, going forward. I know other women testified, and still more have made public statements of abuse. But is there a head count of other women who have a reasonable chance of succeeding in court by bringing similar charges?

trump’s lawyer gave remarks just now. he stated that there were many things that they will appeal.

Just checking, I see a list of crimes (felonies and misdemeanors) that get a person in New York placed in a sex offender registry. But they are all crimes.

That was their only strategy going into this.

It depends on when and where (what State) the events occurred.

When…For this case, which occurred decades ago and is well past the statute of limitations, NY “opened” the statute of limitations for a specific period of time (it was like open from 2019-2021). During that “open” time you could bring a suit regardless of when the events occurred and your lawsuit could not be barred by the statute of limitations. Ms. Carroll filed her lawsuit inside that open window timeframe. Now that window is closed.

Where…This case happened in NY. However, other states have already had window times that closed, or have them open now, or are considering doing similar windows which disregard the SOL.

To conclude, I imagine these other victims are barred by the SOL. With that said, I don’t know all the claims of when/where - there are a couple States with no statute of limitations but that is rare.

Well, I understand all that, I was just wondering if someone had done the math and come up with a reasonable estimate.

Here’s a copy of the verdict form on twitter. It’s probably available elsewhere now without having to go to Twitter.

In other words, because of the SOL the women are SOL.

Why was question 3 left unanswered? Wouldn’t the judge have ordered the form sent back?

If you read the form carefully, if they answer “yes” to 1 or 2, then they skip down to 4.

Apologies. I read your post too fast.

I did see am independent (and excellent) journalist, Judd Legum, post a link that listed all the women who have “made specific allegations of sexual assault against Trump” (in Judd’s opinion I suppose).

  1. Ninni Laaksonen, former Miss Finland. “Trump stood right next to me and suddenly he squeezed my butt” in July 2006.

  2. Jessica Drake. Said Trump grabbed and kissed her without consent, then offered her 10K for sex in 2006.

  3. Karena Virginia. Says she was groped by Trump at the U.S. Open in 1998.

  4. Cathy Heller. Says Trump grabbed her and attempted to kiss her at Mar-a-lago in 1997.

  5. Summer Zervos. Apprentice contestant says Trump started kissing her and grabbing her breasts, began “thrusting his genitals.” 2007.

  6. Kristin Anderson, who says Trump reached under her skirt and grabbed her vagina through her underwear in the early 1990s.

  7. Jessica Leeds. Said Trump lifted up the armrest, grabbed her breasts and reached his hand up her skirt in the early 1980s.

  8. Rachel Crooks. Says she was assaulted by Trump in an elevator in Trump Tower in 2005.

  9. Mindy McGillivray. Says Trump groped her while she was attending a concert at Mar-a-lago in 2003.

  10. Natasha Stoynoff. Says Trump pushed her against a wall and jammed his tongue down her throat at Mar-a-lago in 2005.

  11. Jennifer Murphy. Apprentice contestant says Trump kissed her on the lips after a job interview in 2005.

  12. Cassandra Searles. Says Trump grabbed her ass and invited her to his hotel room in 2013.

  13. Temple Taggart McDowell. Former Miss Utah says Trump kissed her directly on the lips the first time she met him in 1997.

  14. Jill Harth. Says Trump repeatedly sexually harassed her and groped her underneath a table in 1993.

I don’t see where anyone has gone through those to determine if they would have a reasonable chance of succeeding in court. Based on the dates, and lack of a lawsuit being filed (assuming they had a chance and didn’t file one), I’d say they are all past the SOL.

His lawyer Tacopina pretty much fell back on this during his post verdict press conference. That, and a promise to appeal.

As I’m watching CNN, I’m totally cracking up at the constant use of the word “hairsplitting” in the discussions of rape vs. sexual abuse. They have to be doing it on purpose.

That was my first thought.

I misremembered. Not sure how to delete this post. It’s not helpful.

What’s the statute of limitations for defamation? TFG pretty much defames anyone he wants without cease. So re: the list of people he’s assaulted, if the defamation is ongoing then the statute running out for assault wouldn’t matter. right?
