Forget Perry Mason, it sounds like she learned about lawyering from playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
As soon as I read about her “I’d like to give the money to something Donald Trump hates” quote, I started hoping she would donate a sizable chunk to shark conservation groups because if there’s anything Trump hates more in this world than democracy, it’s sharks.
From the interview:
He is obsessed with sharks. Terrified of sharks. He was like, “I donate to all these charities and I would never donate to any charity that helps sharks. I hope all the sharks die.”
I can just picture a comical scene where Trump objects to his own lawyer, purely for them making out that he isn’t as rich as he says he is.
Judge: Mr Trump, you want to object to your own defence lawyer?!
Trump: Yes your honour
Judge (sighing): Overruled
I was just thinking that - Trump would rather take the hit (and assume he’ll get someone else to pay for it) than admit he’s not worth as much as he claims.
So its been several days and Trump still hasn’t called Carroll a nasty woman or otherwise further defamed her. This indicates to me that for once in his life the consequences of his attitudes and actions may have actually penetrated his pea brain.
My question is will there be any spill over from this into any of his other cases. Will he have realized that being awful and disrespectful to the judge and the court system may actually lead to bad things happening to him, or is this just a one off where he has learned that if he defames Carroll it will be bad for him, but continues to attack Engoron and his clerk.
Some of what the article lays out is incompetence and/or inexperience. In her defense (sorry) some is due to the hardass judge. The question "“That’s a lot of appearances for somebody who doesn’t want to attract attention, isn’t it, Ms. Carroll?” would be allowed by many judges in cross examination. One thing about pissing off the judge, though, is you don’t get a long leash anymore.
That’s a stretch. Occam’s Razor tells me that it’s more likely that someone is monitoring his social media accounts, and scrubbing the defamation before it goes out.
Or he has more pressing concerns.
.nvm.
To sum up what they’re asking:
The monitor found ongoing concerns and false reporting by Trump org, therefore we want her removed from her oversight position of Trump org.
Do they even understand what is going on here?
“Understanding” is a Woke Thing.
Did she? Or is she making it all up to help sleepy Joe steal another election and destroy America and turn all the banks into boats or whatever?
Come on, it was only a small $48 million loan, with no paperwork, and no liabilities or obligations outstanding, because of course that’s how loans work.
yeah - its just a shell game after all.
I say potato, you say potato.
And so what if it was a fake loan that didn’t actually exist, and was only fabricated on paper in order to avoid income taxes. That’s what smart people do, right?
Also, Hunter Biden had a laptop. AND a penis.
And also, also, Trump has a very good explanation for this:
“We don’t assess any value to it because we don’t care,” Trump said in the interview. “I have the mortgage. That is all there is. Very simple. I am the bank.”
Sure. That makes a lot of cofeve sense.
Moderating:
You’re in the wrong thread for this discussion. Please take it to the Letitia James thread if you have further comments to make. Thanks.
If trump have stopped defaming Carroll, perhaps the 84 mill worked. I think trump woke up and smelled the covfefe.
Just for completeness, and because I don’t think I saw it mentioned yet in this thread, apparently Alina Hobbit alleges some potential conflict of interest because 30 years ago both judge and atty Kaplans worked for the same law firm for 1.5-2 years or so.
Man, when you are in a hole that big, you might as well keep digging, huh?
She’s already submitted to the court an “I was just asking questions, ha ha.” letter. Golly, she really is out of her element.
