Clan Of The Cave Bear

Anyone care to guess what new innovation Ayla will be coming up with this time?

A working form of Communism?

Plasma Weaponry? (who needs a sling?)

Nuclear Power?

A Theory of Everything?

We can only wait with bated breath.

I hated that book…I had to read it in my sophomore year of high school, and it just made no sense to me…course, knowing me, I probably read one chapter out of 10, and had Greg tell me about the others…that might be why I was lost…

I actually read Valley of the Horses first, having dug it out of my grandmother’s bookshelf when I was nine. I was completely lost as to what was happening, but I loved it anyway. I then went and found Clan of the Cave Bear, which cleared up a lot of questions, but Valley is still my sentimental favorite.

I’d like to see the next book, but I’m not burning up for it. Passage and Mammoth Hunters were both kinda disappointing, and Ayla has become too much of a superwoman. The only thing she hasn’t discovered by this point is the orgasm.

By the way, my theory as to her big invention in the new book: the first lamaze class. After being pregnant for more than a decade, she’s sure gonna need it.

I really enjoyed the entire Ayla series the first time I read through it, but the second time I read it (when Plains of Passage came out) I kind of sloughed through it. I haven’t read it again since then. I’ll probably try reading through it again when the new book comes out.

The only series I’ve ever gone out of my way to read again is The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. (I’ve read it 27 times now, am I a geek or what?)
