Clarification about mod comment in 'Akward Erections' thread

I think it was more of a preemptive strike rather than a response to the actual merit. The “glistening” struck some people a bit too anticipatory, and Ellen was reminding folks on the thread to stay within bounds rather than follow the lead where it might take some. That’s my take, anyway.

When we reach the point where the word “glistening” is worthy of an,
er, uh, anticipatory preemptive strike then rational minds must conclude
that moderation criteria here is a train wreck, and is off the deep end,
and should be scrapped, and the Powers That Be should just start the
moderation SOP over from scratch.

I think rational minds would not conclude this at all. I think several of you are overreacting very badly. And I think the moderation in this case was perfect.

Several of who? Besides the confusion related to the TapaTalk tangent and people suggesting more uniform ways of identifying official Mod Actions, I don’t see anybody faulting the moderation, much less “overreacting very badly.” (other than colonial)

It’s particularly enjoyable about SD that mods take part in threads as regular posters. You know, humanizes 'em. Also makes you respect their authoritah more because you respect their opinions and thinking acuity when you see them out off the office, so to speak…
