Classic rock song suggestions

Hey guys, I’m burning a comp CD of classic rock songs (60s, 70s) but I don’t have enough to fill the 80 min CD even half. The thing is, I’ve got the majority of what you would called the real classics of classic rock, I need some more suggestions for songs!

Stuff I’m into (although I am flexible):
Pink Floyd (got the lot)
Led Zep (99% of songs I’ll have)
Hendrix (99% of songs I’ll have)
Rolling Stones (Have the more well-known songs)
The Doors (Have the more well-know songs)

I also have sporadic classics, stuff like Imagine, Dream on, American pie and the like. Dopers, my CD is in your hands.

Black Sabbath

Deep Purple.

Southern Rock.

Allman Brothers…Marshall Tucker…Wet Willie…Blackfoot…Molly Hatchett.
Amoung many others.

The Who - Baba O’Reily
Thin Lizzy - Emerald or Jailbreak
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Up Around The Bend
The Byrds - Eight Miles High

The Eagles.

Already Gone, Take it to the limit, and New York Minute being some of my favorite songs by them.

Wow, you guys rock! Oh, I forgot I’ve got a lot of The Who, aswell (how could I?!).

Here is a list from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame of “500 songs that shaped rock and roll.” Not all of them are classic rock, of course. There’s some gospel on there, some rap and some recent stuff.

You can’t fill a single CD? What’s wrong with you, man?

From my mp3 list:

Bad Company’s “Shooting Star”

Elton John “Funeral For the Dying”

The Who: anything from “Tommy”

You do have “Layla”, dontcha?

“Woodstock”, “Judy Blue Eyes”, and “Love the One You’re With” by CSNY

Bob Dylan “Like a Rolling Stone”

Eric Clapton and George Harrison: “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”

Elton John “Tiny Dancer”

Grateful Dead “Touch of Grey”

Procol Harum “Whiter Shade of Pale”

David Bowie “Major Tom”

Free - “All Right Now”

There is no classic rock song more classic than that one.

Heh, there’s nothing wrong with me - I’ve got a load of CDs with stuff like that on. Just feel like something new in my CD player, y’know?

I’m a monstrous Floyd fan, and also happen to love Roger Waters solo stuff. Well I love Gilmour’s solo work too but Roger really did some amazing stuff. I sometimes think I’m the only one that feels that way… a lot of grudges seem to be held against the guy

At any rate, I just downloaded Perfect Sense (Parts 1 and 2, Live) by him. Great stuff. Not recommended for the poster (can’t remember ATM who it was) that complained about gospel backup singers in rock music.

I also highly recommend:

Steely Dan
Dire Straits
Alan Parsons Project
Emerson Lake & Palmer
King Crimson
Moody Blues

OK I guess that’s more of a prog rock list than “classic”, per se, but they tend to get lumped together.
