classic rock

Well, if that ain’t circular reasoning, I don’t know what is!:stuck_out_tongue:

The local classic rock station here plays way too much Boston, Foreigner, Bad Company and Journey.

However, there is a classic rock station in Charlotte, N.C., (WRXC 95.7FM) that is independent and the DJs actually pick what songs to play. For example, during the 5-6 p.m. hour, they played Day After Day - Badfinger; Enlightenment - Van Morrison; Boogie on Reggae Woman - Stevie Wonder; Stepping Stone - The Monkees.

Is there anyone on earth who still gets excited when they hear “Piano Man?” IS THERE?!?

I think that is Q104, Green Bean. I mentioned them in the other thread and referred to “deep cuts” as well, but I believe they’ve started using that “back wall” or somesuch instead. Maybe it has something to do with the Clear Channel hegemony.

I was in an piano bar recently when these 2 girl’s, probably in their 20’s, asked the poor guy if you knew how to play it!?
Beer came out my nose and I nearly fell off my chair!
The best part was the pianist looked at them straight dead pan, and replied “No, I’ve never heard of it, should I?”
Then I completely lost it!
…as long as I was there, he didn’t play it either.

Believe it or not, Wishbone Ash’s “Argus” has been in pretty heavy rotation on my iPod lately, so I’m actually kinda burned out on “Blowin’ Free” at the moment. But your point is well taken. It would be a no-brainer to put together a playlist that is ecletic, listenable, and interesting.
