Claudia Schiffer on a WWII Memorial Church?

Am I over-reacting here?

I am an American living and working in Germany.
I pay an insane amount of taxes, but get lots of benefits that I wouldn’t back home, so I don’t normally complain.

But I pay approximately 40 US$ a month in Church Taxes here…something that has bothered me a bit before but hey! I have the privlege of living here…

Then I hear that in Berlin, a WWII memorial church needs to have construction work done. To pay a percentage of this work, and to cover the ugly scaffolding, a big advertisement for Lancome with Claudia Schiffer on it has been draped over the church.

I pay this church tax, and yet they still need to sell advertising space. And Claudia Schiffer, as pretty as she may be, covering the remains of a church which was half bombed by the British but left as is, as a reminder to Germans of war?

What do ya’ll think?

Half bombed or not, I think I’d be quite content for Claudi Schiffer to drape herself over me.

p.s. I think it’s called free enterprise - probably something they learned from overseas

In the US, some churches lease out their steeples for cell phone antennae. In God we trust, all others pay cash.
