You promise me so much for free then you burn through over a gigabyte of my data and use so much energy that my battery is sometimes at 85% when I wake up in the morning.
I think the FCC or FTC should require apps to disclose how much data they will use before you buy or download the app. Like nutritional information on the side of the cereal box or potential side effects that come with drugs.
I don’t know about you, but my phone is plugged in overnight. So it’s at 100% in the morning whatever happens. And at home, the phone is on WiFi, so there’s little to no data usage.
I once had a virus that would cause my computer to open up a webpage without me even knowing it was open (I don’t know how you run a webpage without it showing up on the taskbar), click on every fucking ad on the page, run every video on the page. My computer was running slow so we opened up my history and I was visiting hundreds of websites a minute. If I didn’t look at my history, I would never have known that I was running up clicks for some scam artists web page.
This app does something similar in that it pushes all these ads onto your phone so even if you are using wifi, the battery is being drained almost as fast as it is recharging.
I have used it and didn’t opt to install it again after I replaced my phone. I didn’t notice any data usage or problems with it at all, but as the link says it appears to be a solution in search of a problem. I did like the ability to kill apps instead of going through multiple menus.
Yeah. I removed it before posting this thread but they should really tell you that they are going to burn through a gig of data a month before you load it.
I used that app once. Once. POS cleaned out my phone’s operating system along with most of my files. I’d dearly love to hear that the jerks who developed it are going to jail. Too bad promulgating that crap evidently isn’t a criminal offense.
