My sister is getting married in a couple of months, and has cursed me with a Pepto-Bismol pink bridesmaid dress. Miraculously, I found shoes to match it, and they were both reasonably comfortable and really, really cheap.
However, one of them is a bit dirty by the toes (they are sandals). It won’t be a tragedy if it stays that way, but I’m wondering if I can clean off the dirt without discoloring the fabric. Any ideas?
From here:
It´s risky to wash satin shoes, as there may be dyes underneath the fabric that would leach through, and the shape of the shoes may be lost. Have them professionally dry cleaned.
You could try one of those Mr.Clean Magic Erasers. They work wonders in all sort of cases. I even used one on my pink suede shoes that had gotten scuffed and while it didn’t get out all the mark, it’s much less noticable.
It’s possible to dry clean shoes? I had no idea, but then I’m usually a practical-black-leather-shoe person.
