Have any dopers had experience with the Plastic Film paint protection products?
Considering it for my new Prius as the old one suffered greatly from stone chips on the hood and fenders.
Was it worthwhile?

Toyotas are notorious for flimsy paint (thin). Easily chipped and nicked. If this has the thickness of the films that some manufacturers put behind wheel wells, I’d go for it (if nicks and chips bother you).
Around here the city uses gravel instead of sand and we get horrible chips. I got the 3m stuff on my new car 30k ago and so far no chips on the protected areas at. I have to assume that it works as our other cars are dinged up pretty good.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Now I have to see the cost. I’m having window tint done tomorrow, but they’re busy on weekends, so I know it can’t be done tomorrow.
I have similar film on the front of my iPhone, and that stuff’s tough.
