Notice how at end of video the second guy climbing the tower, during brief moments the camera panned him, had his face blanked out - as if he didn’t want to subject himself to any heckling/ridicule.
Okay Jimbo, we know it was you! And you thought no one would figure it out! But this is the straight dope, damnit!
As mentioned after this was first posted, these guys really weren’t supposed to post images/video of themselves up there, especially not using all the safety equipment. It’s probably not the best career move in such a small field.
You know what else I like? About 30 seconds before the end, he isn’t holding on with his hands at all–and isn’t clipped in yet–while he fiddles with the carabiner (snap link) he’s going to clip. “Look, Ma! No hands!”
You know, Jim doesn’t have much fear of heights. Here I thought he was off at work on the ground, and he’s off making videos 1700 feet up! (At least our life insurance is paid up - have to increase it, though).
They could be disconnecting and unbolting the old antenna, attaching it to a sling from a helicopter and bolting the new one in place. A couple of the TV stations in Kansas City had to install low power digital antennas, then higher power ones on one channel, then finally remove the main analog antenna and install the new full-power digital one.
Once they reach the electrical box, it goes from crazy to almost incomprehensible (where the little spurs that stick out are located), and then – somehow – gets even worse when they get to the red tower portion, where they leave the ladder steps and have to clutch the tower.
