Clogged Ears--Please Help!

So far the pressure has changed very slightly. I can hear things at a slightly greater distance than I was able to before. Heat seems to have made this easier to deal with–I’ve tried various combinations of heat and steam, and the pressure has changed. I’m still trying everyone’s suggestions, and I’d like to thank everyone again. It’s nice to know that twenty or so people care about my ear.

A thought for toad: how does one correct a fault in the “internal structure of [their] head?” Is there a shop that handles this kind of thing?

I wish. Get someone under the hood and hammer out some more space.

My doctor said that, if the sinus infections continued to be chronic and severe (haven’t had a BAD infection/clogging in more than a year), I could look into possibly having surgery to reduce/remove my tonsils/adenoids, thereby opening things up more. Doesn’t seem necessary, though.

I still doubt that anything other than the stimulatory effect of the solution penetrated to the labyrinth. If physical contact of the drum can start vertigo in someone who doesn’t have it, it’s no great stretch to me that the same stimulation could stop it in someone who has it. Of course, it could make it worse, too. Guess you were fortunate!

I always have that sort of problem. The stuff I get from the pharmacist makes the wax nice and oozy but it won’t come out by itself. Whenever I get the Doctor or his nubile nurse to syringe my ears they always say the wax should have drained out by itself its so runny. Guess my ears are just odd.
Seriously though I did have a really bad cold that ended up with an infection in my eustachian (sp?) tube and it was bloody annoying. You don’t want this.
