Closing down GQ

I’ve always thought GQ was the reason the message board was created. It’s a direct extension of Cecil’s newspaper column. Aren’t some column ideas generated by GQ topics? I can’t think of an example but I’m pretty sure they watch GQ closely for Cecil’s column. Cecil’s mailbag was answered by some carefully selected GQ posters.

I would also add to what’s already been said that there are invaluable benefits to the interactive nature of the discussions, which obviously allows for questions and clarifications and, less obviously, for related discussions that can be extremely informative in their own right. Essentially the OP is asking, “what is the point of informative discussions when the Internet is full of information”? Quite a lot of point, actually. What is the point of going to school when you can just Google whatever you need to know?

It’s a strategy that seems to work for Jenny McCarthy.
