Clothahump defends usage of ethnic slurs

Did you miss the trolling admission?

Also – what are the “good times” to use such slurs?

When you are with fellow bigots would be one of your so-called “good times”, right?
BTW, exposing your bigotry in such a way on this board is probably one of the “bad times”.

So you think people who still use that slur would be just as likely to use it for any Mexican illegal immigrant, regardless of skin color/ethnicity?

So you have no explanation then? Just really feel bad for the term wetback and feel like you need to defend its honor? Or just being contrary because fun?

Seriously. Why wetback? Why is this a battle that you are so determined to fight? Even when the original accused poster admitted he was trolling with the word you still defend.

What are you smoking?

Give me a few “good times” when an so called racial slur would be “good.”
Same with gender based slurs, there are good time to use them?
Ethnic too, a few “good times” to use them.

You just keep falling to new lows.

Actually Clothy said his justification for his usage of the slur was trolling. He didn’t try to explain why he used it in the first place (and I’m still curious if he has any defense, or if that was also trolling).

I think I read it after I posted. Well, that confirms it being a bad time to use such language.

What are you saying? Are you calling me a bigot? If so you are not very bright. Unsubstantiated accusations are rude.

Octopus, are the “good times” you were referring to just a joke about music? Or something else?

I’ll explain it to you by typing real slow since apparently you are as stupid as Czarcasm. What song did I say I was listening to as I typed my response? By what group? The rest is an exercise for the reader.

The stupidity you and others choose to display is the number one argument against inbreeding. I don’t care how fine your sister is. Resist the temptation. Break the cycle. For the love of humanity.

After Dope Man I think I’ll listen to some Snoop featuring Justin Timberlake and Uncle Charlie. Than some Will Smith.

You said this, you bigoted mooseknuckle, near the bottom of the last page.

Quoting octopus…
*I’ll say this. There are good times and bad times to use so-called racial, ethnic, or gender based slurs. …
*

Ruder than thinking there are good times to use “so-called” racial, ethnic, or gender based slurs?

I would have said Clothahump might be an 80 year old curmudgeon who really does think the term is as narrowly defined as he said. Words evolve and some words that seemed innocuous enough 50 years ago aren’t so anymore.

But clearly that is not the case. He admittedly used what he knew was a bigoted slur so that people would (correctly by his own account) think him a bigot. What’s the point? It’s trolling, yes, but seems poorly executed trolling.

To tell the truth, I don’t recall ever hearing anyone use the term IRL. (I suspect it’s a lot more common in the Southwest than it is here in NJ.) But my assumption - based on usage I’ve seen online and the like - is that there would be no difference based on skin color.

On what basis do you assume that there’s a difference?

Why wetback? Why anything?

FTR - and if this topic interests you, then remember this going forward, because I “battle” about a lot of things here - there is nothing I “battle” about here that is motivated by a desire to educate or enlighten anyone. My primary motivation in all these discussions is to amuse myself. I find these “battles” entertaining. (At least a lot more entertaining than actuarial work, at any rate.)

The important thing is that I don’t say anything that I don’t think is true (so I’m not trolling). But my motivation for “battling” about this topic versus that one is that I find one more amusing than the other. That’s all.

But if you think I’m a racist for doing it, that’s fine too. As I noted upthread, I am not concerned about winning brownie points here.

Oh, you’re saying you trolled us by deliberately misrepresenting facts with the intentionally provoking others? You intentionally did that? Interesting.

Just my own personal experience – every time I’ve ever heard it, it’s been about brown/Hispanic Mexican people. Not white or black Mexicans (which exist in significant numbers, contrary to the understanding of many Americans).

It’s in the music, isn’t it? I’m the type of person who plays a song 4-5 times in a row and than I hear it all day in my head and even mumble it to myself while I’m st the computer playing some world of Warcraft. I can’t sing. It’s definitely mumbling.

Or if I’m out playing pick up games of basketball or some rough games of two hand tag football, back in the day, I’m older now, so-called racial slurs were sometimes every 6th word. Sometimes ever third word. It depended on the day. I’m just not shocked or offended by language I hear all the time.

If I’m one of two or the only white guy playing basketball at night in the south with several black guys, either 4 on 4 or 5 on 5, the amount of so-called racial slurs flying all night would cause a melt in any of the pristine, virgin left wing bubble living ears here.

I can’t believe that some folks are so insulated from how language is really used. It’s pathetic really. Let’s put it this way, I’ve never had a problem with the language I’ve used playing sports in the so-called hood. I understand how language is used in reality.

Depends entirely on why you are swimming, and how you do it. Otherwise, this is like saying, “There is nothing illegal about walking across a desert near el Paso.”

No, retard. That’s what I’m listening to. And I think it’s good use of the language.

Again, retards, I like the music. I may even watch some Dave Chappell later. I hear he gets a bit blue with the language. Hide the children and liberals.

Yeah. These are good times! It’s sad the stick in your ass has somehow found your brain.

We don’t have to worry, it’s going to get real hard to swim in it anyway with the Trump’s [del] enclosure [/del] [del] partition[/del] wall in the middle of it.
