clothing shrinkage

My sons tops always shrink when i wash them.
(We go to the laundromat as we don’t have a washer in our condo.)

I put the wash on delicate-cold water wash.
And dry them lightly.
Still, they shrink!
Should I just give up and wash them at home in the sink?
Or just buy tops a size too big?

In the Smith household, we’ve implemented a two-pronged approach to the clothing-shrinkage issue.

  1. Buy clothes a one size larger
  2. Cold-water wash, light-dry, but take them out after 20 minutes or so, then hang them on the shower curtain pole thingy overnight.
