Clown sings Pinball Wizard to the tune of Folsom Prison Blues

If this was your first time seeing Puddles, didn’t you expect the vocal to be goofy? Then he opens his mouth, and you think, holy crap, this clown has a voice! I think that adds a nice bit of subverting expectations. (At least that’s how I felt about his take on “Royals” way back when.) And if it’s not your first time seeing Puddles, well, then he’s just a character that you already know, so naturally he’s always a clown.

You know how it seems like 90% of the time someone posts a link to some “great” YouTube video or something and it turns out to be crap?

This isn’t one of those.

I don’t see any other mashups on his page (excepting another version of this one). The others are mildly interesting. But this one is off the meter.

It’s called performance art.

Never heard of this before now. Very cool. I’d totally go see the show.

It’s like Andy Kaufman, turned up to 11!

In his live show he also does some very impressive pantomime. He does not speak but only gestures, makes noises, and sings. He is one of the funniest clowns performing today,

25(?) years ago, we saw a comic in Vegas do that mash up - not the whole thing, but it pops up in my mind every now and again. The whole song takes it to another level.

Hmm, people aren’t getting half as upset as when I sing Imagine to the tune of Folsom Prison Blues at karaoke.

Maybe I need some pancake makeup.

Ditto.

Because he IS a clown. His performances are just too long for a YouTube video (and presumably he doesn’t want to spoil is routine. There are thousands of popular songs out there that he can learn to sing any time he wants, but developing a new routine takes time and effort.)
