Clueless Management

Assumes facts not in evidence.

You’re suggesting that **EvilTOJ **has been working for the same company for 100 years? Because that’s the only other way I can see to interpret that post.

Psst, joke.

Oh, I must have failed to notice 'cause the funny was missing. :stuck_out_tongue:

In which case, a lousy blanket would sure be a lame gift, wouldn’t it? I try to keep an open mind about these things.

I dunno–old people are always cold. And someone who lived through the Great Depression is probably grateful for any little thing they can get their gnarled, decrepit claws on.

My husband gets any number of WTF? items as company rewards. Occasionally he gets something useful, in which case our daughter promptly appropriates it.

My husband’s company keeps him in clothes - well, shirts, jackets and hats anyway. Every project ending - hats and fleece vests! He got a really nice parka once, too - I think that was also for a project. They never give out pants, though - he’s on his own for pants.

Speaking of clueless management, at bonus time last Christmas, Jim’s company made the announcement that Due To The Economy, bonuses would be tiny. A few months later, the company announced (I believe it was) record profits. Do they honestly think no one remembers three months ago? At this point in my working career I’d respect a company that just flat out told me, “You’re not getting bonuses because we don’t want to and we’ve got a good excuse this year” more than this kind of smoke-blowing bullshit that seems to be based on assuming that their workers are brain-damaged morons.
