You’re definitely a fashion victim. It is often true more expensive brand names are better quality clothes with nicer fabrics, weaves and design. However, this is also far from universal. Brand names often do not equal styling or well made clothes. There are plenty of folks out there who dress badly using expensive clothes, or who pay a premium for badly made ones. I’d wager the clothes you wear are heavily influenced by your upbringing, what your friends wear and what you do. Plenty of my favourite clothes are good quality second hand ones. In terms of new clothing, I wear my cheap (but stylin’) H&M suit about as often as my expensive Zegna one. But saving money off list is no big deal, designers largely expect people to buy there clothes in the factory outlet stores mushrooming around every city, and are thrilled you do so – how much does it cost to make a T-shirt in China, anyway?
