I can’t remember the comand to run that sets the start up characteristics for chkdsk. I’m looking to get rid of the 10 second, pause for each scan where you can opt out. You only need to use this command once per XP install to modify the start up characteristics for chkdsk. I been typing in the commmand for years, but alas I forgot it and I didn’t make the .bat file with it I thought I did. Thanks in advance.
CHKNTFS /T:<seconds>
Note that you might not want to set the value to 0. I usually set it to 2-4 seconds. I have seen Windows get stuck in a loop where it keeps running CHKDSK and rebooting. It is useful to be able to abort it.
I’ve changed the default now. Thanks for the help.
