C'mon America. Go to factcheck.com like Dick said

Huh? I don’t know what factcheck.com was before it was rerouted…on what do you base the idea that they were cashing in on factcheck.org’s reputation…or had anything to with what factcheck.org is doing other that they ended up with similar domain names? The article just says they are a for-profit advertising site.

And if they were incovienced by Cheney’s error…and are not pro-Bush to begin with…and even made the effort to not link to a money raising site…how are they sleazebags?

I went to their site before this whole debacle, when I was trying to find factcheck.org. They were a site similar to www.iraqibodycount.com – that is, an advertising site having nothing to do with the name, but simply cashing in on folks’ confusion with domain names. They were similar to the infamous whitehouse dot com (WARNING: NOT SAFE FOR WORK).

Any time someone else tries to make a buck off confusion with someone else’s nonprofit work, they’re sleazebags in my book. Their only reason for having that site was because it could get confused with the great reputation of factcheck.org.

 What makes this extra funny (I mentioned this in another thread) is that Cheney told people if they went to FactCheck, they would see that the statements Edwards was making were false. And the site says that Edwards was mostly correct.

Ah.

Like I said I didn’t know what they were beforehand. Thank you.
