Yes. I’m sure the technology was based from business channels running stock market information across the bottom of the screen.
I’m thinking that the running of a news ticker was used to a slight degree during the Bush/Gore election standoff. But, the running of it at the bottom of the screen constantly started on Sept. 11 2001 and hasn’t ceased.
Yep, 9/11 started it and it has just remained. Not just CNN, by the way. All the news networks are using it and have been since 2001.
