Dear Cecil, I have read everything I could about Cockroaches. Last night I was cleaning up my kitchen when a cockroach came out of my cupboard and scared the crap out of me. I have never in my life seen one alive. I squished it and put it in a paper cup and got on line and looked it up and sure as life that is what it is. I seen pics of their egg sac’s and I remember getting an SOS pad out of the box and I thought it was weivel shells. They are bad here in my town. I took out 4 shells and put the box back under the sink. Well in looking at the pics I now relize that they were cockroach eggshells. I bought the box of SOS pads at a discount store. Please help me! I have two small children and a puppy. So I dont know if the borax is my best bet. If I do decide to use it where would I buy it? Is there a better solution to my problem? PLEASE HELP ME! ummmm, why type of roach was it? I had the misfortune to be infested with German cockroaches a few years ago, and it took a year to get rid of them. If they are Germans, I could possibly help.
If it was what my husband refers to as a “palmetto bug” then I can’t help.
Germans need to have their water source removed. Also, make certain to keep sinks and tubs dry as a bone and the drains covered. Unplug as many appliances as you can (they like the heat from electronics) and be certain to get pheramone traps to stick on the back of such items. I had them in my microwave, digital alrm clock, and even my bathroom scale.
Also Germans come into your home in cardboard boxes. They feed off the glue on the boxes. Beer cartons are a MAJOR contributor.
