Colbert Report 3/1

That Gibson exerpt, the one with the falconer named parrot, that can’t possibly be true, right? RIGHT?

Pleurisy: syphillis of the lung.

(sorry. I’ll stop now.)

During the Word, he riffing on and mentions Lucifer. Up Pops Cheney’s picture of Course.
The Huffington Interview was fun.

Jim

He sure did break character in that interview, and he let her go on too long. But the episode was quite good.

I read the NYT article he mentioned and realized they screwed up on the Duke Cunningham thing. I’ve been awaiting his reply - and his reaction to the whole thing was great. From Colbert’s almost-tearful rant to the destruction of California’s 50th, that segment was gold.

I enjoyed the interview with Ben. The old guy looked liked he was have a tough time of it though.

Jim

I don’t believe I’ve laughed that hard during a TV show in quite some time. I wish this were on prior to the Daily Show instead of after (there isn’t anything on at all at 10:30, and I have such a hard time staying awake–but it’s worth it).

Did I miss something during the interview? I heard him say something about some parts being cut out because they were over time, but I was doing something else at the time and only partly heard what he said so I wasn’t sure if he was joking. Did he say he was cutting out “the parts about Baghdad?” 'Cause that’s what I heard but it was late and I was tired and it could have been something else entirely…

He told her they’d run over their alloted time and that they’d cut everything she said that made him look bad. (That was what I was thinking of when I said he was way out of character, actually.) I forget if he said anything about Baghdad, and of course, none of that stuff was cut anyway. I’m not sure if he was kidding or not.
