Cold Mountain -- Doper's thoughts (Spoilers likely)

I thought I was one of the only people of either gender who liked TEP. Have you notice, though, that in every one of Minghella’s movies, the couples can never stay together?

SPOILERS:

In Truly, Madly, Deeply, He dies, His ghost comes back and eventually allows Her to move on; in TEP, She dies and then He dies later; in The Talented Mr. Ripley (which I also really liked), Ripley destroys the fellow he loves–Hey, Jude Law got killed twice by Minghella!–and then an enemy, and then another lover; and in CM, He dies and She survives to raise their kid.

I’m curious to see if he’ll continue this trend, but it will be a while, since he takes three or four years to make a film.
