Coldplay vs. The Singing Frog

In this thread I had asked if Entertainment Magazine was right in asking if Coldplay was the next U2.

In this article we learn that Coldplay has been displaced at the top of the UK charts by a ringtone featuring a singing frog.

Questions?

Oh, man… I thought this would be a reference to the classic Warner Bros.’ cartoon “One Froggy Evening,” featuring Michigan J. Frog.

Who had no visible genitalia, thank goodness.

Ringtones are responsible for close to 5% of the entire global music industry. And some people say it could be as much as 25% within five years.

I think I live in bizarro world.

Someone tried to show me that cartoon once. I didn’t see no singing frog.

They just played part of the “song” on the news. Which 80s theme is it a rip of, Miami Vice or Beverley Hills Cop?

Beverly Hills Cop.

Yeah, me too. It just sat there.

“The next U2” seems to me an appropriate moniker. They’re all right to listen to, but nothing special, widely adored and highly overrated.

I thought this was going to be about Kermit the Frog. (“Rainbow Connection”, anyone?)

How did this happen?!

Young people today…
