Let’s pretend that Morgenstern told you that he was an atheist. What would have been your reply? What if he would have said that he was an evangelical Christian?

Any truth asserted in my response was in respect to what the Bible “said” about those matters, not to whether those matters were true. The truth of those matters was never an issue in the framework of the OP’s question.

Then the thread should remain in GQ. If people misunderstood your meaning as I did, then you weren’t witnessing and your posts were fine. If you were witnessing, the mode note seems appropriate and the thread still belonged in GQ.

Shouldn’t the people who provided biblical verses have to cite archeological evidence that those verses are factual?

Because after all the ten commandments are also biblical verses.

In some circles, there is belief that archaeology is bogus, as God placed everything where it is only 4,000 years ago or so to ‘test’ us. Or something. So requiring proof from a source that is not considered valid by some, is like citing the Bible as irrefutable proof of the others’ points of view.
