What are these? (note: 50k JPEG)
I found a Chinese magazine on the train tonight while coming home from Greektown and started looking through it. I can’t read Chinese but thr pictures were understandable… most of them. News items, real-estate ads, SUV ads, etc. But one had me puzzled.
The linked image is a scan of the ad. The items in the image appear to be collapsible fabric enclosures big enough to contain one person. They look a lot like suit-carriers or wardrobes that one might take on a plane, but a woman’s head is stickong oput of one, and the other appears to have a window!
What are these things? Portable shower enclosures? Cothes-changing enclosures, like the ‘bathing machines’ used by the Victorian British? Something else?
Looking again at the ad, the other half had wooden ones. Now I’m wondering: portable sauna?
Are both of these the same thing? Where would they be used?
