College books

Hello everyone. I want to know if anyone has heard of people coming to college to buy books from people? I know you can return them to the bookstore for hardly any money at all and you need a receipt. I don’t have receipts and I don’t want to deal with the bookstore people. So does anyone know if some “people” come to the college campus and buy books from people? I wanted to use half.com but I don’t want to deal with shipping and going to post offices. I was going to post flyers around campus, but I don’t want to deal with price gauging students. I just want to unload about 50 books off and get some cash. Has anyone heard of people (I guess they are a private interest) that come to school and buy books no questions asked?

Yes, though they sometimes do ask questions, i.e., want to see your driver’s license. Look for fliers at the bookstore and around your department.

Some used bookstores also buy books for cash, especially books that aren’t textbooks. I’ve done this before, and usually they don’t care who you are. (Although one bookstore I’ve dealt with wouldn’t take library books unless there was some clear indication that the book was purchased from the library.)
