I don’t know how the first part of your rant quite relates to the second, but the end is quite correct. I did not go to college, didn’t need to, and very few people would realize that if I didn’t brag about it. I was raised in a family that had academics coming out the wazoo, and at an early age realized there was a relatively small body of common knowledge that distinquished their educational achievements, and very little depth behind it. Also I have two kids who can’t make enough money to pay their college loans unless they live at home, confirming the lack of value in the generic concept of ‘callidge edicadid’.
