Has anybody ever been to a live broadcast of “College Gameday” on ESPN? I specifically mean standing in the crowd behind Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreet.
What is the set-up with the studio? Are they just up on a platform? Is there a large piece of plexiglass behind them separating them from the crowd? Is there some sort of security arrangement for the students/fans in the background? Or do people just walk up and act like idiots in hopes of being on television?
In short, I’m wondering: What’s to stop me from joining the crowd and throwing rotten eggs at the back of Lee Corso’s head in the middle of a live broadcast?
I have no desire to do that, I’m just curious about the safety and security measures that have to ensure someone doesn’t try something like that. I have no problems with any of the members of the broadcast team, but I can see how Lee Corso could easily get under someone’s skin. And given the behavior I saw during my college tailgating days, I’m sure such ideas have entered numerous drunken heads.
Anybody have the dope?
Thanks!
