Wait a sec–Mongolian hotpot is delicious, and Korean food is absolutely yummy. North Korea has some regional variations on standard Korean dishes, and at least one summer dish, naengmyon (cold noodles in broth), is a North Korean specialty, with Pyongyang and Hamhung the two areas with the best versions of the dish.
Hey ! Why is no one disputing the UK’s position in this Axis ?
BTW, isn’t Holland also part of the Axis of Below Sea Level Evil Doers ?
Sounded like a reference to puppy eating to me. Mongolian and regular Korean food doesn’t bug me. I’d add Eritrean/Ethiopian food to the evil list, just because you use your fingers and only the right hand, and eat everything with that bread stuff.
Yes. Bi-weekly meetings in the Mariana Trench. But you didn’t hear it from me.
Yes! Join Americans United to Beat the Dutch! (AUTBTD). Or else they will succeed in their nefarious plan to make us effeminete from sniffing tulips, dizzy from staring at windmills, and fat and lazy from drinking heinekins and eating Gouda. Then they’ll come in and dam up the great lakes and drain them, and we won’t be able to stop them!!

Pshaw. Like Americans need Heineken to get fat and lazy.
All together now:
Ve’re going ‘bi’ in a yellow sccchubmarine…
You are becoming quite the anti-December knee-jerk reactionary.
Even the Human Rights Watch, a group that I suspect you fancy, is decrying Africa’s ignorant decision to pimp Kaddafi.
Pssst. Brutus. C’mere.
Read the rest of the thread. We’re all pals in this one.
Sure you have to wash your hands before and after, but Injera is good for you! A cup of Teff has more calcium then a cup of milk. My mom could make you a plate of Injera with zilzil which would put those restaurants to shame (The special ingredient to all recipes is Berbere). Although I’m not too bad in making Fulh either.
Well, now! There’s something we can agree on, Efrem. That’s some gooood eatin’. Next time you’re in DC, drop by Adams Morgan and tell me how our stuff compares to Mom’s cooking, eh?
As several posters already pointed out, Libya’s chairmanship isn’t a done deal, despite the Sky News article.
This article says the US State Department on Tuesday proposed a revision of the rotation system. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20020820/ap_on_re_af/us_human_rights_libya_3
Hehehe…good old Satirewire. I miss BushLog, though.
december - Probably a bit late now and it might not happen but you could ask for a change in the thread title - it being untrue an’ all ?
Hi Brutus, how’s the knee ? BTW, I haven’t fancied any groups since Bananarama tragically called it a day.
Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I happened to remember the tone of this one when I read: Libya takes UN human rights chair. No doubt apologies will be forthcoming all around…
Shrug. My post looks ok.
Well, it happened. Oh the irony. They were interviewing the Libyan Ambassador to the UN this morning on the Beeb, and he singularly failed to answer the question “how do you square being head of an organization you don’t even let in your country?”
Still, rehabilitation has to start somewhere, I guess.

Is this what you were linking to Izzy?
If for one thing, at least we have cites now of Libya saying they will clean up its act.
wether they do or not is a different story.
and no one has anything to apologise for.

However, Izzy, your link just goes to this thread.
Story.
However, the thread title is still not, strictly speaking, correct–strictly speaking, Najat al-Hajjaji is to head the UN Human Rights Commission.
Apologies for the link. :o
Thanks DDG & TOF
