Way back in about 1979 I read a book on marijuana cultivation which stated that growing conditions make much much more difference than which variety of seed is used. The resin (which one wants more of) is what the plant produces to protect itself from radiation (light). So to get hi quality smokables give it as much radiation as you can, in the form of grow light wattage.
I for one believe we are seeing the beginning of the end for pot prohibition.
The names they give various strains of pot are reminiscent of names given to varieties of wine.
Your book was selling you woo, which is really common in marijuana cultivation books. The genetics of the plant is the most important factor. Care of the plant generally affects how much you get per plant, not how high a quality it is. The only advantage an electrical grow has over a greenhouse one is that the plant gets light 24/7.
The lovely weed does not flower under a long photo-period though. Light intensity (lumens/m*2) is important, and manipulation of the watering cycle can exaggerate glandular production in many indicas.
That is part of modern cultivation though I believe. You give them 24 hour light until you want them to flower then you switch to an under 12 hour regimen to trigger flowering. From what I understand until the 70’s some purists thought you had to mimic normal light periods.
As I said earlier, polls show 65% of my state (Minnesota) now supports Medical Marijuana, but our idiot Governor (just like the last one) won’t budge because “Law Enforcement” bitterly opposes it.
Question: Who considers it “morally” wrong to smoke pot…and why? It’s always, to me, been “it’s illegal”. I haven’t actually considered a morality aspect to it.
