If I wanted to color eggs (like you do at Easter) where would i find the kits?
Who sells em in Oct?
Well, you’re in luck if you happen to live by a Meijer. I just saw egg coloring kits there next to the food coloring. Some of the kits even had Day-Glo color!
I think Wal-Mart has them this time of year also.
Have fun.
So, are you coloring Halloween eggs?
You can buy the standard PAAS egg dying kit on-line.
I’m thinking of Easter Bunny as Halloween Costume so eggs would be nice.
But still, why be able to have egg fun only in March?
When I was a kid, we didn’t have none o’ them fancy Easter egg dyeing kits. [/geezer voice]
Actually, my mom was too cheap to pay money for something so easy to make. Just add a couple tablespoons of vinegar to a teacupful of warm water, and then use food coloring to get the color you want.
My kit of liquid food coloring has the formula for dying eggs on the back of the box. Look at your kit, if you have one.
Craft stores sell egg-shaped pieces of styrofoam in various sizes. These can be easily painted (check the paint to make sure it’s safe for styrofoam, thouth) and they’re much lighter than real eggs, unless you want to blow out the real eggs.
Martha Stewart can help you: Bewitching Halloween Eggs.
Yep. It was boiling water, a little vinegar and food coloring until the color was what you wanted. Even now, vinegar makes me think of dying eggs - it was just about the only time we smelled it that strongly in our house.
Another me too. I do, however, remember ours being a little bit more pastel than the other kids who used the “faincy” dye.
