Columbine spoof online way out of line?

Out of line … or not? - The Denver Post apparently thinks so…

Columbine Paintball

I don’t think anything is out of line unless it hurts me personally. And I am covered in the armor of angels’ tears.

It is of tacky though.

Out of line?? That was the funniest thing I have seen all day!  That only thing wrong with it is I got soda on my monitor. :stuck_out_tongue:

If there’s anyone out of line here, it’s the newspaper author responsible for this reactionist tripe. Who authored the site is entirely irrelevent, as one can still contact them to voice concerns, or protest publicly. And what’s up with their suggestion to contact lawmakers? You want to repeal the first ammendment because you think some political speech is in bad taste?

Oh, and two youths who had been tormented daily for four years snapping and going on a murderous rampage REALLY compares to the systematic annihilation and subjugation of millions of people:rolleyes:

Am I bad person for thinking, “Say, a school! That’d be pretty badass!”?

Yea, yea, I know.

Americans who claim to uphold the First Amendment but call for “accountability” for one’s words should remember the role that anonymous publications have played in American history (Common Sense, the Federalist Papers, etc.). Furthermore, I fail to see how publicizing “Columbine paintball” to a group of people that probably includes some friends or family of Columbine victims does any good whatsoever.

THAT’S AWESOME!! Someday, I shall vacation in Wyoming just to partake in Columbine Paintball.

I’m showing that site to my friends.

Oh yeah… It’s not out of line, it’s based on the same premise(thought I’ll admit, it might not have been purposely based) as the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac(JTHM) comic books and Insane Clown Posse’s music. If you have the honest desire to kill people, read the comics, listen to the music, and you’ll feel better. As Vasquez(creator of JTHM) puts it: we all have a monster inside demanding to be fed; simulation will suffice. None of that stuff promotes murder, but instead lets it out of your system.
Psychopachik Vampire

I live in Littleton. I think it’s tasteless, gross, but unfortunately none of my business. I do wish it didn’t exist though.

The author says “I’m not trying to take away this idiot’s First Amendment rights to put up that hurtful site”

then says

“But if I knew how, I’d make this “lame-(expletive) joke site” disappear.”

So which is it, jackass?

And is there something wrong this person’s browser, where they simply cannot prevent it from going to this site?

I was referring to the author of the Dever Post article, in case that isn’t clear.

Seeing as how more people will have heard of this via the column than otherwise, I think the writer has done a disservice.

The same law that permits Cindy Rodriguez to pound whatever words she wishes onto her spittle-flecked keyboard likewise permits these irresponsible lackwits to construct and display a tasteless parody of a public tragedy. There will be an audience for both stupidities. I shall now stop thinking about this, as I resent the small amount of space both idiotic parties are already taking up in my skull.

I sent her my post above (with “jackass” removed) to her email address during the weekend, if she replies I’ll let you guys know.
