Its an annoying bug that won’t lide you swipe closed running programs
I’ve tried a lot of different approaches recommended on the internet to resolve this error, but it still keeps happening. Is it a virus? Planned Obsolescence?
Have you had it happen to your phone? What did you do that worked?
I could be wrong, but it seems remarkably similar to a problem I had with my LG G3, which I got back in 2014 or so.
The system would stop, and the whole UI would freeze up, causing me to reboot. I got a new phone from LG, but that didn’t stop it from happening, so it was definitely something in the OS.
I finally figured out it was the Alarm function of the default clock app. I downloaded another app (Timely, in case you want to know) and have never had a problem since then.
Check to see if the problem occurs when you have an alarm set using the default clock or alarm clock app.
(Disclaimer: I am only a user of the Timely app. I am not employed by the developers, nor am I being paid for this endorsement. Although, I wish I were getting paid. I could use a few pennies.)
That’s the last ditch nuclear option. Contacts, music, files, downloads, etc… gone. Resumes, cover letters, saved emails… gone.
There’s supposed to be a way to safely uninstall the SD card that might work; its my next step. I just figured that there might have been a better way.
Its like buying something; the minute I do, somebody steps up to say that there were a million easier ways to do it and why didn’t I ask. :smack:
I’ve been using a 3rd party alarm as a reminder for certain daily tasks. I’m deleting it now. Thank you!!!
Contacts and such should already be backed up in your Google account. Same with all your apps. If you have an SD card, make sure everything else is on that. Shut down, then take that out. Then do a factory reset.
Or, if you’d rather, plug it into your computer and copy everything off. And get an app to backup your text messages and address book. Then turn it off, remove your SD card, then do the factory reset.
If nothing else works. I agree it’s a last ditch attempt. But there’s no reason you should lose everything. If that were true, people would never upgrade their phones.
