Come in and analyze my weird dream.

The other night I had a very strange dream. It isn’t that much of an unusual occurance with me. A few disclaimers beforehand, I don’t do drugs, I rarely drink, and I don’t think I have any mental illnesses (well currently, LOL).

The Dream

In my dream I met a cousin (this cousin doesn’t exist in real life), whom I found very hot. He was wearing a lavender dress (yes, he) and was very wealthy. I had the distinct impression that he was a multi-billionaire in the dream.

We walked around in the palacial mansion for a while and eventually we went out to his private lake that was ringed with cliffs on the far side and sat on a grassy meadow near the mansion, directly next to the private lake at the waterfall point.

He put on a large feathery wing contraption (on his shoulders). This reminded me of Icarus with all the brown feathers. It seemed waxy somehow but I didn’t get to feel it. He got up on a unicycle and scooped up his little brown dog and rode off the edge of the waterfall and started flying, dog, unicycle, wings and all. Eventually he dropped the unicycle into the lake and he came crashing down shortly thereafter. The dog swam to shore first and then he arose from the water still wearing his lavender dress but the wings and the unicycle were gone.

We then went back inside his home and I picked up a lavender umbrella from the umbrella bucket thing. Normally my dreams don’t have a color theme going on in them but this was very odd. The lavender umbrella was the same shade of lavender as his dress. At this point in the dream I was suddenly outside. It didn’t seem that odd or abrupt though.

I opened up the umbrella and I started flying with it like Mary Poppins (I made this association in the dream too). And was having a grand old time. I then closed the umbrella and put it between my legs and could then fly like the wicked witch of the west (still an association made in the dream). I flew like the wicked witch and would brake like Mary Poppins in front of a huge stadium that had a glass window. I ended up going to visit my sister at an apartment complex she that only existed in the dream world and zoomed through her dream world apartment on the lavender umbrella.

I eventually went out the balcony on the second floor and flew through the trees doing loop de loops and such. An older black woman appeared on a balcony and started yelling at me and saying that I was wicked. I told her calmly that I sold my soul to the devil so I could fly. I flew some more and then landed on a tree branch perch and awoke.

So, anyone have any insight into this? I heard that flying dreams are classical sex dream imagery and somehow symbolize freedom of sexuality. But this wasn’t really a total flying dream either.

Are you a man or a woman?

I am a self identified (through practice) gay man if it matters.

You will lose a ball in a knife fight with a Hell’s Angel.

That’s pretty good Happy. It made me chortle like a wicked schoolgirl.

Lake, waterfall, umbrella, you mention you rarely drink…

I’m thinking you fear water terribly. But not actual water, just its analog in the real world. The water in your dream represents, of course, that you fear that Dorothy will melt you with a bucket of some sort of fluid.

I don’t really understand why Dorothy was old and black. Perhaps because you stole her broom, and she couldn’t sweep up with the soot in her house. Wait, did you fly around on an umbrella? What the hell did you do with the broom?

So, the Dorothy of the dream world represents that you fear small dogs and rich relatives.

I suspect you’re gay. And a doper.

That’ll be $95. See my receptionist on the way out.

LOL, That’s even better. I can see the fear of water boiling up inside me already and don’t particularly care for small dogs. Nangleator you rock!

Come to think of it, the black woman looked like a good friend of mine who died recently but a little older. Coincidently, her name started with a “D” too. I can’t really focus on her face but the clothing style and hair was the same.

I’m just going to free-associate here since dream analysis is more difficult to do without really knowing the person.

Lavender: gay associated color.
Dress: gender questions?
Dress and umbrella: things that cover someone. Cousin in dress more covered than you with umbrella. Covered = closeted? protected?
Unicycle: no handles, more complicated to control when riding, difficult to ride without some practice.
Cousin needs wings to fly and wears lavender dress; you need lavender umbrella to fly.
Crush on cousin: societal taboos?
Black woman: society? approval? authority?

Not too bad. I am 100% uncloseted. Work, Friends, Family, etc. I assume everyone knows I am gay. Work, Friends, and Family know for sure. I guess strangers may question it but it doesn’t quite matter.

It is true Lavender is a gay associated color. I don’t particularly think it is an attractive color though.
