Comic Book Archives

My Google-Fu is not strong.

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit nostalgic. I’m keen to revisit the old comics I read when I was a kid. I’ve been doing a little research, just to really figure out when I was an avid reader. I remember a few story lines (I was mostly an Avengers/Thor guy, with a healthy dose of Spider-Man thrown in). Today I found a cover from an Avengers story line that I vividly remember being fascinated with – the Zodiac bad guys, or whatever the hell they were called (Avengers #120). That was circa 1974; I was 9. So that was pretty much my prime zone, I reckon.

Here’s what I’m getting at: I’d love to find an online resource where I could peruse comics (Marvel, DC, others (I remember a ton of war and western comics I used to like too)) that were out in my wheelhouse time-span, say about '72 through '79. Is that a thing? Or do I just have to lament that I never had a head for collecting and all those amazing little bouts of escapism are lost to me forever … unless I want to go all geek and start ponying up dough for actual physical copies?

Anyone tracking?
TL;DR - who know of any online comics archives?

For a small subscription fee, Marvel Unlimited gives you access to a back catalog of ~20,000 comics, going back at least to the '60s.
